Editor's Note
Summer is here and it is hot, hot, hot in more ways than one!
Picnics have taken over and we are all having so much fun helping you all plan this special annual summer rite of corporate passage. It is so great seeing employees relaxing, getting the chance to socialize and seeing their families meet and get to know each other. It isn't too late to plan your own tax deductible company picnic for this year.
We have been seeing so many companies who are adding a team building element to their picnics as well. Whether it be good old fashioned field day style races or a Minute To Win It team adventure, teambuildings are a fun element that create a bit more return on your investment.
The other fun trend we are seeing in picnics is the smaller budget event taking place on a weekday afternoon in the office. We have all kinds of fun packages for this style event; Golf in the Office, Cafeteria Casino, Extreme day at Work, and Arcade in the Board Room to name a few.

All Things Theme

Gather family & friends to celebrate Team USA!

Create faux Olympic admission tickets to invite guests to your gala.

Center decorations around the Ol' Red White & Blue, or take an international twist and highlight the 2012 host city: London. Hang banners to welcome the athletes (your guests). Deck the halls with flags from around the world and tiki torches; fake flames also work well as centerpieces.

Feature challenges that guests can leisurely participate in throughout the night, during commercials, or in a separate kid-zone for those less interested in the actual televised event. Award Bronze, Silver & Gold Medals for overall scores. A few suggestions? Hang photos of Olympic greats for guests to try and name. Fun Productions can help with the Table Tennis tourney, and Pop-a-Shot playoff. We would also happily provide the volleyball net, lawn games like badminton, bocce ball or croquet, and carnival games for mini head-to-head challenges. Mimic actual events with the Fun Pro Bouncy Boxing. Step back in time to the Olympic roots with the inflatable Gladiator Pedestal Joust!

Your event is sure to rank a gold medal with this theme!

Featured Fun
Host your own Olympic games! Turn a few of these suggestions into your own event:
  • 3-legged 100 meter dash.
  • Cartwheel Contest.
  • Discus Throw with a Frisbee.
  • Food Fight (aka spin a wheel to see which gross food to try and eat the fastest.)
  • Javelin Throw (aka who can blow a straw wrapper the farthest.)
  • Synchronized Swimming (aka relay teams to fill a bucket with water by passing it cup to cup.)
  • Wind Sprints (aka blowing a ping pong ball down a banquet table.)
  • Create an obstacle course with household items. Have competitors complete while inside a sleeping bag to make more difficult ...and hilarious!

“Fun Productions is always the vendor I choose for our annual picnic so we have lots of things for the kids (both big and small) to do. Everything is always great. But this year at the office meeting I chose FP for teambuilding events. I never imagined it would be so much fun!” –Darlene E. Chamberlain, Office Manager, IMA of Colorado, Inc

Have some fun at work!

Monday, April 01, 2019

  1. Treat yo’ self day! Find out what would make your team feel appreciated or what is fun to them and make a day out of it.
  2. Cereal Bar! Who doesn’t like cereal? Breakfast? Cereal. Lunch? Cereal. Afternoon Snack? Cereal. Dinner? Cereal. It is inexpensive, unexpected, and surprisingly effective. If you have the means build one in, but if you don’t, just bring in a variety of cereals and milks for a day. Bonus, no one will be hangry all day!
  3. Take some time to laugh and relax! “You can learn more about a person in an hour of laughter than a year of conversation” – Plato. Seems simple enough, it’s just not always easy to find opportunities to bond, right? Around our office this means pajama day! It turns out that our boss wants to wear pajamas to work too. Get the boss on board for some fun and everyone will follow
  4. “While the cat is away, the mice will play.” This old adage is outdated, and we find bonding over the little things brings our team together. Letting people take a minute to enjoy the sunshine or tell stories and not consistently be focused on the job leads to more productivity! When you need some extra time to connect we have you covered; try www.coloradoteambuildingevents.com for fun bonding experiences from Corporate Recess to in-depth training & facilitation focused on “understanding & synchronizing your team.”
5. Serious fun! Company picnics have been our specialty for over 25 years, but why have fun just once a year? We have tons of other ways to have fun at work. Some of our favorites are mini golf in the hallway, obstacle courses in the parking lot, field day at the park, arcade games in the board room, and especially a photo booth break! Give us a call and we can come up with some custom fun for your office.

Fun at work is easy to achieve if you just make the commitment! It doesn’t have to be time consuming as all it takes is one trip to the grocery store, a calendar invite for a theme day, or a phone call/email to the Fun Pros!

(She was actually super productive this day and really excited to be at work!)
