All Things Theme
Fools Rush In

Celebrating a holiday which is not typically a party theme can be refreshing for host and guests alike! For example, enjoy the fools in your life with an April Fools Party where nothing is what it seems.

Print invitations upside down, or surprise friends with a "Snake in a Can" invite. Make sure they know to dress a fool!

Get creative with decor. For Sale, Fresh Paint and/or Wet Cement signs in the yard. "Party Cancelled due to No Permit" posted on the entrance. Holiday decorations from every season may be hilarious. Scatter Whoopie Cushions sporadically among seating. "No Parking" Signs or Crime Tape on the restroom entry. Rearrange existing furnishing upside down & sideways. At this event, the decorations can become activities. How about the ol' Bucket-with-string-and-a-sign-saying "Pull For Candy"-Trick? Of course, the bucket is filled with water, packing peanuts, confetti, etc... Fake Parking Tickets? Rubberband the sink spray faucet for unsuspecting guests? What pranks will you plan?

Get crafty in the culinary corner as well. Serve dessert foods first. Sneak in some pranks, such as plated Rubber Chicken(s) or plastic insects frozen in the ice cubes. Stick with the theme of 'nothing is what it seems' by creating cake shaped meatloaf frosted with mashed potatoes, Chicken Pot Pies as dessert, and deceiving names like "Puppy Chow" for the sugary Chex Mix. Get wacky with your table settings, such as kitchen tools as utensils (ie. spatulas, sifters, ladles, etc...).

Other fun activities could include White Elephant Gift Exchange, and an April Fact or Fool Contest. Ask guests to compete in an Open Mic of silly songs, jokes, etc... Or turn to Fun Productions' and our sister companies for the entertainment! Fun Productions', for example, has all the A List comedians, impersonators, jesters, and/or actors to aid in elaborate pranks!

Guest take-aways which can be used during the party will be twice the fun: Kick Me post it notes, Silly String, Chattering Teeth, Groucho nose/moustache glasses... VIE Events can also provide personalized and popular guest take-aways with photo booths, Green Screen Photography and so much more!

Be prepared for guests who have such a good time that they try and get you back next year!

Have some fun at work!

Monday, April 01, 2019

  1. Treat yo’ self day! Find out what would make your team feel appreciated or what is fun to them and make a day out of it.
  2. Cereal Bar! Who doesn’t like cereal? Breakfast? Cereal. Lunch? Cereal. Afternoon Snack? Cereal. Dinner? Cereal. It is inexpensive, unexpected, and surprisingly effective. If you have the means build one in, but if you don’t, just bring in a variety of cereals and milks for a day. Bonus, no one will be hangry all day!
  3. Take some time to laugh and relax! “You can learn more about a person in an hour of laughter than a year of conversation” – Plato. Seems simple enough, it’s just not always easy to find opportunities to bond, right? Around our office this means pajama day! It turns out that our boss wants to wear pajamas to work too. Get the boss on board for some fun and everyone will follow
  4. “While the cat is away, the mice will play.” This old adage is outdated, and we find bonding over the little things brings our team together. Letting people take a minute to enjoy the sunshine or tell stories and not consistently be focused on the job leads to more productivity! When you need some extra time to connect we have you covered; try www.coloradoteambuildingevents.com for fun bonding experiences from Corporate Recess to in-depth training & facilitation focused on “understanding & synchronizing your team.”
5. Serious fun! Company picnics have been our specialty for over 25 years, but why have fun just once a year? We have tons of other ways to have fun at work. Some of our favorites are mini golf in the hallway, obstacle courses in the parking lot, field day at the park, arcade games in the board room, and especially a photo booth break! Give us a call and we can come up with some custom fun for your office.

Fun at work is easy to achieve if you just make the commitment! It doesn’t have to be time consuming as all it takes is one trip to the grocery store, a calendar invite for a theme day, or a phone call/email to the Fun Pros!

(She was actually super productive this day and really excited to be at work!)
