Helpful Holiday Party Hints

Weekends in December are booking up fast with holiday cheer! Having a hard time finding available venues and equipment? Here are some tips to make planning easier:

The first few weekends in December are the most popular for holiday parties. If you are flexible with your date you may have more options. Try selecting a weekday or date outside of December, for example in November or January. Not only will more venues and fun items be available, but your guests are so busy with holiday preparations and commitments they may treasure an event outside of the average dates.
If you are tired of having the same casino equipment each year or your table choices are not available, try a new theme for your party! How about a miniature golf theme? When the weather keeps you from the course, bring the course to your venue. Perhaps create a Game Room with Sports & Bar options or make a mini arcade! And, who doesn't love Game Night? Fun Productions can provide the Giant Operation, Giant Chess, Giant Jenga, Xbox Game Zones and more!

All Things Theme: Under the Big Top
Come one come all and help the guests at your next event run away to the Circus! Include an "Admit One" ticket with invitations, and ask guests to come dressed as a favorite circus/carnival character. For a traditional look create your own big top with streamers or fabric. Fun Productions has all the red & white striped carnival booth decor and needed concessions like popcorn, cotton candy, nachos, hot dogs and more.

Family friendly activities could include a cake walk, pie eating contest, or petting zoo. Carnival Games, fun mirrors and the Hi Striker Strong Man Challenge are a must! Face painters, stilt walkers, balloon artists, jugglers, and of course clowns could be a real crowd-pleaser. Nothing says circus quite like a Zoltar machine - hunt one down like in the movie Big, or hire an entertainer to become your interactive Zoltar! (pictured above)

For a more mature crowd include circus favorites like a kissing booth or side-show entertainment like fire eaters, contortionists, tarot/palm readers, and fire dancers. Slacklining is even an interactive take off the tight rope.
Our sister-company, VIE Events, has cool options for guest take-aways. VIE can actually put attendees under the big top with green screen photography or send folks home with a red & white striped cover flip book! Let this be the year you really impress your guests at the fall festival!

Happy Fall to all of our wonderful clients, partners, and friends.
We are heading into a slower season for events, but we are kicking into high gear with our planning season. This is the time of year where we inventory and do in-depth inspections of all our gear. We also do our annual Strategic Planning meetings and goal setting for the upcoming year. We are at a cross roads after 22 years in business. 2015 will be an exciting year of regrowth and determination for going to the next level. We have spent the last couple of years in "status quo" mode and now we are ready to "go get em" We have some exciting things in the works, so please be watching for new equipment and fun service offerings. "Come Grow With FUN" is our 2015 theme!!
I am also called at this time to bring a positive message to all those that I have the ability to connect with in whatever way I can connect. It has been just over a year since Fun Productions and I personally lost our rock and our back bone. Tim Abbott, my partner in life and business, was taken from us way too soon. During the last year I have grown more and learned more than I did in the first 43 years of my life. Here is what I know;
1. I was really happy, but I didn't always know how happy because I looked at what could be better and what I could improve. Now, I don't ever want to look back at a time and think why wasn't I more grateful? Why wasn't I cherishing all the good in my life? I urge you to join me in walking in gratitude and being aware of all the blessings in your life. Let's choose happiness today and each day in the future.
2. When the grief, anger, guilt and sadness come into my world I choose to be a screen. I let the feelings come, but I make sure they pass right through me. I do not become a door to block them in or out.
3. I am fortunate enough to be able to stop and breath and take the time to discover and try on new things and be strategic and tactical, but also trust my intuition about what I want my future to look like. Don't let tragedy be your awakening to breath and decide how you want to live, do so everyday.
4. Lastly, I believe you are where you are supposed to be, when you are supposed to be there. All we need to do is open our head and our hearts, don't get attached to things, and be aware so that we can see what is placed right in front of us and take advantage of it.
Thank you for being there for us in all the ways you are!! Get out there and roll in some leaves!!
Sincerely,Dawn Abbott

Have some fun at work!

Monday, April 01, 2019

  1. Treat yo’ self day! Find out what would make your team feel appreciated or what is fun to them and make a day out of it.
  2. Cereal Bar! Who doesn’t like cereal? Breakfast? Cereal. Lunch? Cereal. Afternoon Snack? Cereal. Dinner? Cereal. It is inexpensive, unexpected, and surprisingly effective. If you have the means build one in, but if you don’t, just bring in a variety of cereals and milks for a day. Bonus, no one will be hangry all day!
  3. Take some time to laugh and relax! “You can learn more about a person in an hour of laughter than a year of conversation” – Plato. Seems simple enough, it’s just not always easy to find opportunities to bond, right? Around our office this means pajama day! It turns out that our boss wants to wear pajamas to work too. Get the boss on board for some fun and everyone will follow
  4. “While the cat is away, the mice will play.” This old adage is outdated, and we find bonding over the little things brings our team together. Letting people take a minute to enjoy the sunshine or tell stories and not consistently be focused on the job leads to more productivity! When you need some extra time to connect we have you covered; try www.coloradoteambuildingevents.com for fun bonding experiences from Corporate Recess to in-depth training & facilitation focused on “understanding & synchronizing your team.”
5. Serious fun! Company picnics have been our specialty for over 25 years, but why have fun just once a year? We have tons of other ways to have fun at work. Some of our favorites are mini golf in the hallway, obstacle courses in the parking lot, field day at the park, arcade games in the board room, and especially a photo booth break! Give us a call and we can come up with some custom fun for your office.

Fun at work is easy to achieve if you just make the commitment! It doesn’t have to be time consuming as all it takes is one trip to the grocery store, a calendar invite for a theme day, or a phone call/email to the Fun Pros!

(She was actually super productive this day and really excited to be at work!)
