Editor’s Note
The summer picnic season is upon us and we are soooo excited to be gearing up in anticipation! we have just hired some fantastic new operations staff members who are going through the training process so that they will be “event ready” soon. We have also just done a full inspection of all the summer equipment and it is ready to go.
The above classic summer picnic themes are great, however we are loving some new twists; Circus/Circus, Summer Safari, Country Fair, Field Day or Recess, or how about a Rio Carnivale’?

Summer Camp
Ensure your guests are Happy Campers with this party plan!
*Invite friends in the form of letters home.
*Decorate with tiki torches, wild flowers and/or camoflauge. A fire pit section would really set the scene. Plastic bugs dangling from trees, or edible animals tucked away for smaller children to find could be a fun twist. If indoors, add some twinkly lights above as stars. Be sure to include wooden signage pointing out important spots (fictional or real) like infirmary, lake, showers, toilets, etc….
* Larger events could have a Camp Registration Table, where campers are assigned a cabin and given a name tag. Regardless of guest count, tshirts could be created for each cabin or have guests create their own as an activity in the Craft Shack! Include other crafty camp favorites such as painting pet rocks, making friendship bracelets ~ or ask Fun Productions to bring the Sandy Candy , Spin Art, or Face Painting Talent!
*Each table centerpeice could be a cabin name, where diners construct their own chant. Foods like bug juice, trail mix hour’dourves or smores dessert could be served on divider trays and/or in tin dishware.
*Above all, don’t forget to invite the camp from across the lake for the big dance!

Can you teach an old dog new tricks? Try a few of the following twists on some old standards:
1. 3-Legged Soccer ~ Secure bandanas above the knee and again at the ankle of the outside leg between every two players. Let the soccer game begin!
2. Blind Volleyball ~ Use a beach ball instead of a volleyball, and put a tarp over the net. Players will only see the ball once it is already over the net on their side!
3. Opposite Arm Dodgeball ~ all players must only use their opposite arm!
