Safe Inflatables

Fun Productions' Inflatables at play

Did you know that at Fun Productions, Inc we consider safety to be extremely important?

We have always exceeded the safety standards and manufacturer recommendations for safety.  It is this commitment to the highest standards that has made it possible for Fun Productions to be honored to say that we have never in our 12 years of renting inflatables had a major injury or accident.

Not only do we research and train using the industry recognized safety guidelines, we are on the forefront of setting safety standards in Colorado.  We have testified before the Senate and have sat on committees to help define some ways that operators can safely provide amusement devices for special events.

As a customer of inflatable devices please check that your operator is doing the following to insure that you will have a Fun and safe experience;

~Is the provider a licensed business in your state and/or city?

*Do they have a business license registered with the state?

*Do they have a sales tax license?

*Are the people who are setting up your event employees with Worker’s Comp and Unemployment Benefits or are they illegally paid under the table? If they are sub-contractors they may not be getting the proper training and they may not have any sense of liability.

~Is the provider insured?

*They should have property, auto, work comp, unemployment and most importantly liability insurance with at least a million dollars of coverage.

~Do they address proper set-up?

*Inflatables must be staked or weighted properly. If your provider does not address these issues you are putting yourself, your children and your guests at serious risk.

*Have they discussed power needs with you? Insufficient power may cause the unit to deflate and cause injury or accidents.

*Make sure the inflatable vendor includes a written guideline of all the rules, safety standards, wind limits, and weighting requirements.

There has been so much recent press about the risks, it is important for all of us here at Fun Productions to make sure our treasured clients know that we are committed to keeping you safe.

Questions To Ask All Game Vendors

February 17th, 2011

 Team on Giant Twister

Whether you choose Fun Productions or another game vendor for your next event, be sure to ask the right questions and get the right answers! Here are a few issues to consider:

  1. Do they have a contract to guarantee you that they must show up and that they must bring the equipment you have ordered?
  2. What are their written safety rules, guidelines and processes?
  3. What is their safety record?  How many major incidents/accidents have they had and what were they?
  4. Are they insured?  Is their insurance with a reputable A rated U.S. insurance company? Are they able to additionally insure you and your venue with at least a $1 million dollar policy?
  5. Are their games clean, do they smell good and are not ripped, torn or full of debris?
  6. Are their staff sub-contractors or employees?  Does their staff stay with the inflatables to keep guests safe and to help them use the equipment properly?
  7. What are their policies for Customer Service, their standards for appearance, and their training procedures?

Did you know that Fun Productions welcomes all of these questions? We are happy to answer any such inquiries, and will provide responses to set your mind at ease and ensure your next event with us is a success!

How to Host a Successful Casino Night

January 21st, 2011
Did you know that Fun Productions has been helping to create successful casino nights since 1992?

Casino Night

We typically distribute a $1,000 play money bill to each guest.  The guests cash-in their money for chips at the table of their choice.  The gaming usually lasts 2-3 hours.  Our staff also handles the cash-in at the end of the “gaming” period.  We suggest that you award prizes of some kind whether they are small token items or a large variety of nicer gifts.  This promotes the competition of “Gambling”, and will encourage guests to keep playing to win.  The prize giveaway can be handled in one of the following ways:

  1. The Auction – Each player is given a voucher at the end of play. The vouchers state their name and amount of money won, and are initialed by the dealer.  These vouchers will be used to determine how much they may bid for the prizes being auctioned.
  2. The Raffle – Each player may buy raffle tickets at the commencement of gaming for $500.00 per ticket. Raffle tickets may also be sold throughout the evening.  It is a good idea to have a twenty ticket limit.  The prizes are then awarded to the person holding the chosen ticket.  This option is good when you have a lot of prizes because it will go faster than an auction; it also gives everyone a chance at a prize even if they were left with very few winnings.
  3. The Box Raffle – This is much like a regular raffle in the ticket buying process, except that the guests get to choose which prize or prizes they want to have a chance to win. The prizes are displayed, and a raffle box is used for each prize or group of prizes. The guests get to put their raffle tickets in the box or boxes of their choice.  Each prize is then awarded to the winning ticket holder.
  4. Top Winners – If you have five or fewer prizes you may choose to award them to the “Big” winners of the night.  The voucher system will be used.  The dealers will keep the vouchers showing all the player’s winnings.  The top winners will be awarded the gifts.

With each option you can also include people who “lost their shirts” by giving everyone who ran out of money a ticket for the “booby” prize, so that they may still be included.  You can also issue IOU’s for players to get more money at the cashier station, which will be subtracted from their winnings at the end.  This way people will continue to play even if they have run into some “bad luck”.  You may also choose whether players will be limited to winning only one prize or if you will allow couples or groups to pool their winnings.

…the real winnings are in the *FUN* for everyone at any casino night

Football Season!!

August 25th, 2010

Well, it’s finally here: Football season!  Time to pull out your blue & orange and get ready for some Broncos action.  And we can help!  Here’s some great football themed games you can add to your tailgate parties:

Armchair Football: Just when you thought being an armchair quaterback was easy… Sit back in our  recliner that will shake, rattle and roll while you make passes to the receivers.  It’s harder than it looks!

3 Point Kick: For the times when you can’t bring your event to the stadium, we’ll bring the goal posts to you.  A huge hit for sport’s themed and teambuilding events.  Test your kicking skills with this inflatable game.

Electronic Football Toss: Kind of like the pop-a-shot basketball game, but instead of making baskets you are taking turns gaining yards with accurate passing through three different targets.

Bungee Sports Challenge: A new and novel two-games-in-one sports game; challenging participants to a tug-o-war with a bungee cord and race to slam dunk basketballs or gain yardage on the football field.

And if you really are looking for that ultimate football experience, how about Football Fantasy at Invesco Field?  It’s a fantastic teambuilding event with various football themed challenges.  For more info check out: http://www.funproductions.com/Teambuilding/FootballFantasy.htm

Our Event Promise to You

July 27th, 2010

We’ve seen a lot of events since we began Fun Productions in 1991 and have developed some simple rules along the way.  It may seems completely obvious, but we’s still like to  promise you these things as event professionals:

**We will always SHOW UP!  You will not be left wondering if the company you hired to bring your games & activities is reliable.  Fun Productions has been renting games for the best events in Colorado including 100+ school events per year since 1991.

**We are safe!!!  We exceed state guidelines for safety.  We properly maintain, anchor, & inspect all of our games rigorously before and after every rental.  We are proud of our record of no serious injuries or insurance claims in our entire history. Our safety attendants are included on inflatables. Be sure to ask other game operators about their safety standards.

**We are insured!!!  Our insurance meets and sometimes exceeds state requirements.  Our carrier is A+ rated and not offshore.  We can also provide you with additional insured certificates at no cost, potentially saving you hundreds on your own insurance policies.

**We have clean, quality equipment!!!  Our games are not mildewed and smelly, torn or ripped, or full of dirt and sand.  We clean them after every use.

**We will bring you what you order!!!  Our systems prevent overbooking so you won’t get a call saying you are getting a Bungee Run instead of the Velcro Wall you ordered.

**We employ the best staff!!!  Our staff cares about their job and are hired employees with benefits, etc.  We do background checks, personality assessment testing, a rigorous three-interview process, training procedure & have a stringent uniform policy.

**We care!!!  We are a family owned and operated company and we love what we do.  Providing FUN for parties is not something we do as a hobby or side business out of our garage.  We are a full-time staff of 15-35 in a 10,000 square foot facility and dedicated to professionalism.

**We go the extra mile!!!  Our staff is knowledgeable, polite and extremely helpful.  We are always willing to answer questions, give suggestions, and refer other vendors and move.  On the event site we will do the entire set up, leaving you to concentrate on all your other event details.  Our set up crew is super polite and helpful.

Summer Golf Games in Colorado

June 10th, 2010

Golf Driving Cage

Summer means a lot of different things to different people: picnics,  games, baseball, BBQs, playing in the park., etc.  One thing summer means for a lot of us, especially in Colorado is golf!  In fact, did you know we have over 300 golf courses in our state?  While I never used to be a fan, I was introduced to the game by a friend a few years ago and have really taken to it.  I’m still frustrated that I haven’t gotten much better, but I do revel in the fact I can drive the ball farther than most people I play with.  The rest of my game is a whole ‘nother story though….

In honor of this popular sport (and I promise, no Tiger Woods jokes), here’s an overview of some of the ways Fun Productions can bring some golf to your next event!

Golf Driving Cage: It’s like the real thing!! Step up to the driving mat, and take your best swing.  A radar unit measures the distance you hit the ball and displays it digitally.

Golf Simulator

My favorite is our portable Miniature Golf.  We have up to 18 unique holes with different challenges (needs about a 30’ x 40′ space.)  It’s like bringing an actual putt-putt course to your event!! A new FUN addition that we have been doing indoors is black-light mini golf and really cool cosmic version!

Golf Simulator: Try your luck in a long drive competition or a closest to the pin match. Play 18 holes or play any of the courses on the Tiger Woods PGA.  This is a a great realistic practice game in which you hit the ball and watch it land on the screen.  Complete with projector, screen, computers and software and of course the balls and drivers.

Electronic Putting

Electronic Putt: If you want to practice putting in a small space this fully automatic putting green changes shapes & contours, cheers, and sends you back your ball to try again.

Velcro Golf

Velcro Golf:  Using specially weighted golf balls you & your guest can chip them onto the mat to score points – try not to hit the sand or water traps!

And For large outdoor events, consider Frisbee Golf.  Use three Frisbee golf holes/nets to play a 3, 6, or 9 hole course with our map & instructions!  It’s really great fun!

And If you really want to go all out or are looking for a really fun way to promote teambuilding try our Par for the Course activity.  We bring everything it takes to design and build your own putt-putt golf course.  Teams build the course, everyone gets to play & then teams are awarded prizes based on their designs! Check out the video of event planners doing this exact challenge:

Add some games to your Stanley Cup

June 2nd, 2010
Well, the Stanley Cup Finals are finally here.  While our beloved Avalanche aren’t in it, the Chicago Blackhawks (my personal pick) and the Philadelphia Flyers are duking it out for the national title.

Hose Hockey

In honor of this great game, we wanted to highlight some of our hockey games!

First up, the ever-popular air hockey!  You don’t need to go to a video arcade to play this classic game.  Definitely my own favorite hockey game; reminds me of being a kid again. Who doesn’t love trying to get their pucks past their opponent?

Hose Hockey!  This hilarious team game uses air through a hose to move the “puck” into your opponent’s goal.   Something you have to try.

We also have the carnival game Slap Shot Hockey if that’s more your speed.   Relive the summertime carnival atmosphere with Slap Shot.

Super Chexx Game

If you’re looking for some more realistic action (well, hockey with 2” players realistic) there’s our Super Chexx Hockey video game.   Another great classic video arcade game that you can bring to your party.

And for probably the closest you can get to hockey without playing is Slap Stick Hockey.   Use an actual hockey stick & try getting your pucks past the “goalee” with this game.

Slap Stick Hockey

Whichever game you choose or team you cheer on, enjoy the final days of hockey season!

Celebrate the Indy 500 with our car themed games!

Remote Control Racers

In honor of the Indy 500  this weekend, we thought we’d spotlight some of our car themed fun!

Wacky Trikes

One of our favorites is our Field Game, Wacky Trikes.  Great for summer picnics; relive your childhood again by racing friends & coworkers on a tricycle!

Remote Control Racers are top-of–the-line remote control race cars with hand-held remote controls race on an oval inflatable track. Choose one of the nine cars for your three-car race.  Which racer will get the checkered flag?

We also have a car-themed video games.   Challenge your friends at the Daytona 500 and see who’s fastest!  Daytona 500 Game Video  Or if you’d rather Offroad, try our Offroad Challenge!   Sit down & race 4WD trucks on multiple courses, race against the computer or link more than one and race against your friends.

Offroad Challenge

Go Racer

No Indy 500 party would be complete without our go-racers. GO-Racers are battery operated, vehicles shaped like a toilet. Comes with an exciting inflatable race track to contain all of your guests zooming to win the race. Other body style themes include kegs, soda cans, football helmets, & more.. Whichever you choose, it’s sure to be something to talk about!!!
